Questions and answers
Short answers about what we build, what it costs, and how a project works. If your question isn't here, send it to us by email.
What do you build?
We build three kinds of small automation: Excel dashboards that flag what is late, Google Forms automation that assigns requests and sends alerts, and tools that turn invoice and form PDFs into spreadsheet rows. Each job is small and has a fixed scope. We are based in Indiana and build for small businesses.
What does it cost?
Every project is quoted after a short call or a few emails. We agree a fixed price in writing before anything is built, and you get a written delivery date in every quote. If a call helps, we'll agree a time by email.
How long does it take?
Excel dashboards and Google Forms automation typically take 7, 10 or 14 days, depending on the option you choose. Document tools are quoted per job; the delivery date is in the quote. Delivery times count from the day the one-page scope is agreed.
What access do you need?
We only ask for access that can look, not change, and we never hold a login that can edit your records or move money. For Google Forms, you install the script yourself in your own Google account. We never need your login and never see your real responses.
What happens to my data?
We build on made-up sample data first, before anything touches your real records. Anything you do send is used only for your project. When the work is done, it is deleted or returned.
Excel or Google Sheets?
It depends on where your data lives. Excel dashboards use formulas that exist in Excel 2010 and later; they're built and tested in Excel for Microsoft 365 on Windows. Google Forms automation runs in the Google Sheet your form already fills.
Does it work on a Mac?
We build and test in Windows Excel and haven't tested on a Mac. If you use a Mac, tell us before the quote.
What do I need to give you?
We build on sample material, so we don't need your real records. For an Excel dashboard, send your column headers and a few made-up rows. For Google Forms, send your form's questions and who should handle each kind of request. For documents, send two or three sample files for each layout, as copies.
What is included in one job?
One Excel table and one dashboard per job; no macros. One form and one routing table per job; the 'Two forms or routing sets' option is the one exception and is quoted as its own job. One document layout per job; a second layout is a separate quote. Each service page (Excel dashboards, Google Forms automation, Documents to spreadsheet) lists what is included and what is a change order.
Can the PDF tool read scanned pages?
No. The tool reads PDFs that contain real text, and a scanned photo of a page has no text to read. A file the tool can't read with certainty is left blank and flagged for a person; the tool never guesses, and it says so rather than mishandling a second layout.
What happens after you deliver?
You get the finished file or script, with a one-page how-to or an install guide. You can use what we build in your business for as long as you like, and you decide when it goes live. Each fixed-scope option includes revision rounds, listed on its service page. For Google Forms automation, fixes after delivery are a new job.
What don't you do?
Our work is software engineering only. We don't provide legal, tax, accounting, or investment advice. We also don't write macros, send text messages, or read scanned images; the service pages list what is included.
